Sogo's Restaurant
West Indian Delights
This small spot, with tablecloths, plastic chairs and a view of the street, is one of the best places to try West Indian cuisine in St. John. Mr. Augustine is a wonderful chef with stints at some of the island's best restaurants under his hat. While you can get pasta, chicken breasts and the like, go for dishes like steamed, grilled or fried fish swimming in a pepper-and-onion-laced Creole sauce. More adventurous types might try traditional dishes like curried goat.
